Established in 2018, on a 780 hectare plot, Mount Sunzu Coffee was founded on a vision not just of producing coffee, but also creating jobs, improving local communities, and developing environmentally sustainable practices. Utilising a socially responsible farming model, cutting edge irrigation, and climate-positive agricultural methods, the team at Mount Sunzu aim to focus on both efficiency and quality. With a total of 150 hectares intended for coffee production, the remainder of the plot has been reforested, cementing the farm’s environmental credentials. This lot was processed at the farm’s own mill. The cherries were selectively hand picked, pulped and dry fermented for 24 hours in the presence of native yeast and bacteria, before being dried for 10 days on raised beds.

Our first ever coffee from Zambia, and it doesn't disappoint! There's a luxuriousness here that feels perfect for the turning season. I'm getting rich cocoa and tart plum, with just the faintest lingering finish of velvety rose.
About Zambia
Introduced in the 1950s, the Zambian coffee industry only geared up as recently as the 1980s and has been on a bit of a rollercoaster since then. The fact remains, however, that from its climate, to its geography, to its seed stock, Zambia has incredible potential to produce exceptional coffee. Most Zambian coffee is grown on large estates in the north of the country, where it is harvested from April to September. Look for clean, bright and fruit-forward notes.
