Our corner of Scotland is known as ‘Argyll’s Secret Coast’. It’s pretty remote, but it’s full of fantastic wee businesses, many of whom serve or sell our coffee.
Here’s a list of the cafés, hotels and shops serving or selling our coffee hyper locally, which we decided was within 15 miles of the roastery! Freshly roasted coffee with low food miles served up by people who are passionate about local produce - what’s not to love? If you’re visiting Argyll’s Secret Coast this summer, be sure to give them a visit.
Right next door - Wild Kitchen
The closest is Wild Kitchen, which is all of ten metres from the roastery front door. Leoma serves our coffee from a hatch in her converted shipping container along with her beautiful bakes. Her cinnamon buns are legendary. Leoma also has retail bags of our coffee for sale.
About 500 metres - Tide & Thyme
Just a short walk down the hill from the roastery you’ll find the wonderful Marie and Lauren cooking up at storm at Tide & Thyme. They have built up such a following that it’s quite hard to get an evening booking. But if you can, make sure you go! Finish off with affogato, made with our coffee of course. They are also open for lunch on certain days.
About 600 metres - Kames Village Store
Andy at Kames Village Store always keeps his shelves stocked with bags of our freshly roasted coffee, both Argyll’s Secret Roast and Clyde Steamer. You can pick up other local goodies here, as well as all the essentials.
One mile - Botanica at the Barn
Head up the road in the other direction to Millhouse for Botanica at the Barn. This is a lovely little café with a gorgeous garden. These guys have their own ‘Botanica Blend’ coffee, which is perfect with some home baking. Michal bakes bread, and you can pick up a sourdough loaf to take away with you.
Two miles - Five West
Five West is a cracking café on Tighnabruaich’s Main Street. They serve up their own ‘Five West Blend’ coffee along with home baking and lunches. The business is up for sale at the moment, so if anyone fancies taking on a bustling coffee shop in a beautiful part of Scotland, here’s your chance!
Three miles - Hayshed Gallery at Carry Farm
The Coffee Bar at Hayshed Gallery is our very own coffee bar, where we showcase our coffee and serve it up with baking by Wild Kitchen, Ardfern Stores and Eider Bakery. Clyde Steamer is the hopper and you can try our coffee of the month on pour over. There’s also a great selection of single origin retail bags to buy. Our team are on hand to answer any questions.
Eleven miles - Oystercatcher at Otter Ferry
The Oystercatcher sits right on the beach at Otter Ferry. It’s a stunning location overlooking Loch Fyne and the perfect place to watch the sunset! The food is superb, featuring lots of locally sourced produce. And the coffee is great - if we say so ourselves!
Fifteen miles - Colintraive Hotel
And last, but not least, is the wonderful Colintraive Hotel. Clare and Joe were one of our first wholesale customers and we just love working with them. Clare is so committed to the quality of coffee that they serve, investing in really good coffee equipment and always making time for barista training for new team members. The food here is fabulous. They recently won Best Gastro Pub of the Year at the Scotsman Scan Awards.
You’ll also find our coffee at some local self catering and B&Bs, including Auchgoyle Farm, Tregortha, Crispie Estate, Carry Farm, Portavadie and Loch Riddon Bothy. Lulabelles in Tarbert is not in Argyll’s Secret Coast, but is within 15 miles of the roastery. Just hop on the ferry at Portavadie to cross Loch Fyne to Tarbert.
As our roastery is a production space, we’re not open to the public. But if you’re passing and want to pop in and buy some coffee, just ping us a message and we can help! You can also order online and then select ‘pick up from the roastery’ at checkout.
